Jr. Rangers' Bernard commits to Sacred Heart

The Boston Jr. Rangers have announced that goaltender Sam Bernard has committed to Sacred Heart University (Atlantic Hockey) for 2014.
In 23 regular-season appearances this year, Bernard, from Lafayette, Colo., fashioned a 9-8-5 record, including five shutouts, to compliment a 2.20 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage.
Bernard’s performance this season landed the 1994-born on the All-EHL Second Team.
"This is an outstanding accomplishment for Sam and we couldn’t be happier for him and his family,” said Jr. Rangers coach Mario Martiniello. “All season long he proved himself as one of the league’s top goaltenders, and he’ll be a great addition to Sacred Heart’s program.”
Bernard is the fifth player on this year's Jr. Rangers roster to make NCAA plans for next season, and the first to hold a Division I commitment.
